RoleMetric receives career and account information only when you provide it or use the Service.
We do not sell resumes, career history, AI conversations, or personal information.
You may request access, correction, deletion, or other rights available where you live.
Review documents before uploading them. Avoid unnecessary Social Security numbers, financial account details, government identifiers, medical records, or other highly sensitive information.
If you allow analytics, RoleMetric uses Google Analytics 4 to measure page visits and selected product actions such as starting or completing a scan, creating an account, and beginning a subscription checkout. We do not send resume text, job descriptions, names, email addresses, or other uploaded career content to Google Analytics. You can change this choice through Analytics settings in the site footer.
The following is the full Privacy Policy supplied by Astyne LLC, without abridgement.
RoleMetric is operated by Astyne LLC (“RoleMetric,” “Astyne,” “we,” “our,” or “us”). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, retain, disclose, and protect information when you access or use the RoleMetric website, applications, software, artificial intelligence features, subscription services, and related products and services collectively referred to as the “Service.”
RoleMetric is designed to help users analyze resumes, compare resumes with job descriptions, receive applicant tracking system compatibility estimates, generate career-related content, organize job-search materials, and access other employment-focused tools. Because the Service may process resumes and other career documents, the information you submit may include detailed professional and personal information.
By accessing or using RoleMetric, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Privacy Policy. This Privacy Policy should be read together with the RoleMetric Terms of Service.
01Information We Collect
We collect information that you provide directly, information generated when you use the Service, and limited information received from service providers that help us operate RoleMetric.
Information You Provide Directly
When you create an account, we may collect information such as your name, email address, profile details, authentication information, account preferences, and subscription status. Passwords may be processed and protected by our authentication provider and are not intended to be stored by us in readable form.
When you use RoleMetric’s resume, job-matching, workspace, or artificial intelligence features, you may provide resumes, curriculum vitae, cover letters, job descriptions, professional biographies, employment history, education history, certifications, licenses, skills, projects, publications, awards, portfolios, salary preferences, work authorization information, career goals, interview notes, recruiter communications, and other information related to your employment or professional background.
The information contained in a resume may include your name, email address, phone number, general location, employment history, education, professional affiliations, and other details that you choose to include. We collect this information only when you upload, enter, save, or otherwise submit it to the Service.
You may also provide prompts, questions, instructions, edits, feedback, and other content when interacting with RoleMetric’s artificial intelligence features. We may retain your prompts, generated outputs, resume analyses, match reports, saved jobs, document versions, workspace history, and related activity so that you can return to your work and continue using the Service.
If you contact us for support, provide feedback, report a problem, or communicate with us, we may collect the contents of your communication, your email address, screenshots, attachments, diagnostic information, and any other information you choose to provide.
02Information Collected Automatically
When you use RoleMetric, we may automatically collect technical and usage information about your interaction with the Service. This information may include your Internet Protocol address, browser type, device type, operating system, application version, language setting, time zone, referring page, pages viewed, features used, session duration, approximate location derived from your Internet Protocol address, error logs, crash reports, and security-related activity.
We use this information to operate the Service, maintain account security, prevent fraud, diagnose technical issues, understand product usage, improve performance, and develop new features. We do not use precise device location unless a feature specifically requires it and you grant the necessary permission.
03Cookies and Similar Technologies
RoleMetric may use cookies, local storage, session storage, software development kits, pixels, and similar technologies to operate and improve the Service. These technologies may help us keep you signed in, remember your preferences, maintain secure sessions, understand how features are used, measure performance, prevent abuse, and troubleshoot errors.
Some cookies and similar technologies are necessary for the Service to function. Others may support analytics or product improvement. Depending on your location and the technology involved, you may be able to control certain cookies through your browser settings or a consent tool made available through the Service.
Disabling cookies may affect your ability to sign in, save preferences, or use certain features.
04How We Use Information
We use personal information to provide, maintain, secure, personalize, and improve RoleMetric. This includes creating and managing accounts, authenticating users, storing uploaded documents, analyzing resumes, comparing resumes with job descriptions, producing applicant tracking system compatibility estimates, generating career-related content, saving workspaces, synchronizing information across supported devices, and maintaining document or analysis history.
We may also use information to provide customer support, communicate about your account, send service-related notices, process payments, detect fraud, enforce our Terms of Service, respond to legal requests, investigate misuse, and protect the rights and safety of RoleMetric, Astyne, our users, and others.
We may use aggregated or de-identified information to understand product usage, evaluate feature performance, conduct research, improve our systems, and make business decisions. Aggregated or de-identified information is intended not to reasonably identify an individual.
05Artificial Intelligence Processing
RoleMetric uses artificial intelligence and automated systems to provide resume analysis, job-matching estimates, writing assistance, keyword recommendations, cover letter generation, interview preparation, and other career-related features.
When you use these features, your prompts, resumes, job descriptions, and related content may be transmitted to and processed by third-party artificial intelligence providers or infrastructure providers acting on our behalf. These providers process information only as necessary to provide services to RoleMetric and are subject to contractual terms, privacy commitments, or data-processing conditions applicable to their services.
RoleMetric may retain artificial intelligence inputs and outputs so that you can access previous analyses, continue editing documents, compare results, and manage your workspace. We may also use limited interaction data to evaluate system quality, prevent abuse, improve prompts, and enhance product performance.
We do not sell your resumes, uploaded documents, artificial intelligence conversations, career information, or personal information to recruiters, advertisers, data brokers, or other third parties.
We do not guarantee that artificial intelligence outputs are accurate, complete, unbiased, current, or suitable for every purpose. You should review all generated content before submitting it to an employer or relying on it in connection with a job application.
06Resume and Career Information
RoleMetric may retain resumes, cover letters, job descriptions, saved analyses, generated documents, workspace information, and account preferences to provide persistent access to your work. This allows you to revisit previous scans, compare documents, maintain versions, and use RoleMetric across sessions or supported devices.
Your resume and career materials remain your content. We do not claim ownership over the information you upload. You grant us the limited rights necessary to host, store, process, analyze, reproduce, and display your content solely for the purpose of operating, securing, and improving the Service.
We do not make your resume publicly searchable unless RoleMetric introduces a feature that clearly allows you to choose public or shared visibility and you affirmatively enable that feature.
07Payment Information and Stripe
Paid subscriptions and other purchases may be processed by Stripe. When you purchase a paid plan, your payment card information, billing information, transaction details, and other payment-related data may be collected directly by Stripe.
RoleMetric does not intend to store your full payment card number or card security code. We may receive limited information from Stripe, such as your subscription status, billing status, payment confirmation, card brand, last four digits of a payment method, country, transaction identifier, and renewal or cancellation status.
Stripe processes payment information under its own terms and privacy policy. We use the information received from Stripe to activate paid features, manage subscriptions, prevent fraud, provide billing support, process refunds where applicable, and maintain financial records.
08How We Disclose Information
We may disclose personal information to service providers that perform functions on our behalf, including Astyne cloud hosting, database management, authentication, document processing, artificial intelligence processing, analytics, customer support, email delivery, fraud prevention, security monitoring, and payment processing.
These providers may access information only to the extent reasonably necessary to perform services for us. We expect providers that process personal information on our behalf to maintain appropriate safeguards and use the information according to their contractual obligations.
We may disclose information when required by law, regulation, subpoena, court order, or other legal process. We may also disclose information when we reasonably believe it is necessary to enforce our agreements, investigate fraud or abuse, protect the security of the Service, prevent harm, or protect the rights, property, or safety of Astyne, RoleMetric, our users, or others.
If Astyne is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, bankruptcy, sale of assets, or similar business transaction, information may be transferred as part of that transaction. Any successor may continue to use information subject to this Privacy Policy unless users are notified of a material change.
We may disclose information when you direct us to do so, authorize a connection, use a sharing feature, or otherwise consent to the disclosure.
09We Do Not Sell Personal Information
RoleMetric does not sell your personal information, resumes, job-search materials, uploaded documents, or career history.
We also do not rent your personal information to third parties or provide your resume to recruiters or employers for their independent use unless you intentionally use a future feature that specifically enables such sharing.
Depending on the laws applicable to you, certain analytics or advertising technologies may legally be considered “sharing” or “targeted advertising” even when no money is exchanged. If RoleMetric uses technologies that require an opt-out right under applicable law, we will provide an appropriate method for exercising that right.
10Data Retention
We retain personal information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the Service, maintain your account, preserve your saved workspace, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, prevent fraud, and protect the Service.
Account information and saved content may be retained while your account remains active. If you delete specific documents or analyses, they may be removed from your active workspace, although residual copies may remain temporarily in backups, logs, security records, or disaster-recovery systems.
If you request account deletion, we will take reasonable steps to delete or de-identify your personal information, subject to legal, regulatory, fraud-prevention, security, accounting, and contractual obligations. Some information may be retained where necessary to document transactions, enforce rights, prevent repeat abuse, or comply with law.
Backup copies may not be deleted immediately because they are stored on rotating or archived systems. Information retained in backups will remain protected and will not be restored for ordinary business use except as necessary for disaster recovery, security, or legal compliance.
11Account and Data Deletion
You may request deletion of your RoleMetric account and associated personal information by using any deletion option provided in the Service or by contacting us at legal@astyne.com or rolemetric@astyne.com.
Before completing a deletion request, we may ask you to verify your identity or confirm account ownership. This helps prevent unauthorized deletion requests.
Deleting your account may permanently remove access to your resumes, saved job descriptions, generated documents, analyses, workspace history, subscription-related records, and other stored content. You should download any information you want to keep before deleting your account.
Deleting your RoleMetric account does not automatically cancel obligations associated with a third-party payment platform unless the subscription is canceled through the applicable billing process. We will make reasonable efforts to explain the appropriate cancellation method where necessary.
12Data Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information from unauthorized access, loss, misuse, alteration, or disclosure. These safeguards may include encrypted transmission, access controls, authentication measures, logging, monitoring, restricted employee access, and security practices used by our infrastructure providers.
However, no online service, storage system, or transmission method can be guaranteed to be completely secure. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for notifying us if you believe your account has been accessed without authorization.
You should avoid including unnecessary sensitive information in resumes or prompts. For example, we generally recommend that users not upload Social Security numbers, financial account numbers, government identification numbers, medical records, or other highly sensitive information unless a feature specifically requires it.
13Your Privacy Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights relating to your personal information. These may include the right to request access to information we hold about you, request correction of inaccurate information, request deletion, obtain a portable copy, restrict certain processing, object to certain processing, or withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.
You may also have the right to know the categories of information collected, the purposes for which information is used, the categories of recipients that receive information, and the sources from which information is obtained.
We will not discriminate against you for exercising a privacy right provided by applicable law. We may need to verify your identity before fulfilling a request. In some circumstances, we may deny or limit a request where an exception applies, such as when retention is legally required or necessary to protect security.
To submit a privacy request, contact legal@astyne.com or rolemetric@astyne.com.
14California Privacy Rights
California residents may have rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act.
Subject to applicable limitations, these rights may include the right to know what personal information we collect, use, disclose, sell, or share; the right to request deletion; the right to request correction; the right to receive a copy of certain information; and the right to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information.
RoleMetric does not sell personal information. If our practices change in a way that creates a legally recognized right to opt out of sharing or targeted advertising, we will provide an appropriate opt-out mechanism.
California residents may submit requests by contacting legal@astyne.com or rolemetric@astyne.com. We may request information necessary to verify your identity and connection to the account.
An authorized agent may submit a request on your behalf where permitted by law. We may require proof of authorization and may also ask you to verify your identity directly.
15European Economic Area, United Kingdom, and Switzerland
If you are located in the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, or Switzerland, we process personal information only when we have an appropriate legal basis.
Depending on the activity, our legal basis may include performing a contract with you, taking steps at your request before entering into a contract, pursuing legitimate interests that are not overridden by your rights, complying with legal obligations, or obtaining your consent.
Our legitimate interests may include operating and improving RoleMetric, securing accounts, preventing fraud, providing customer support, understanding product usage, and developing new features.
You may have rights to access, correct, erase, restrict, or object to processing, as well as the right to data portability and the right to withdraw consent. You may also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection authority in the country where you live or work.
When personal information is transferred to countries that may not provide the same level of data protection, we may use safeguards such as contractual protections, approved transfer mechanisms, or other measures recognized under applicable law.
16International Data Transfers
RoleMetric may operate and use service providers in the United States and other countries. As a result, your information may be processed or stored in a country different from the country where you live.
Privacy and data-protection laws may differ across jurisdictions. Where required, we use reasonable safeguards intended to protect information transferred internationally.
By using the Service, you understand that information may be processed in the United States and other locations where Astyne or its service providers operate, subject to applicable law.
17Children’s Privacy
RoleMetric is not directed to children under 13 years of age, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Users who are under the age of majority in their jurisdiction should use the Service only with the permission and supervision of a parent or legal guardian where required.
If we learn that we collected personal information from a child in violation of applicable law, we will take reasonable steps to delete it. A parent or guardian who believes a child has provided personal information may contact legal@astyne.com.
18Sensitive Personal Information
A resume may contain information that is considered sensitive under certain laws, such as immigration status, demographic information, disability-related information, or professional-association information.
RoleMetric does not require you to provide sensitive personal information unless it is necessary for a specific feature. You should review documents before uploading them and remove information that is not necessary for your use of the Service.
We do not use sensitive personal information to infer characteristics about you for advertising purposes.
19Automated Decision-Making
RoleMetric may use automated processing to generate resume scores, keyword suggestions, job-match estimates, and other recommendations. These results are informational tools and are not intended to make legally binding or final employment decisions.
RoleMetric does not make hiring decisions on behalf of employers. A score or recommendation generated by RoleMetric does not guarantee that an employer, recruiter, or applicant tracking system will reach the same conclusion.
Where required by applicable law, you may have rights relating to certain forms of automated decision-making. You may contact us for additional information about how a specific RoleMetric feature operates.
20Communications
We may send transactional or service-related emails concerning account verification, password resets, billing, subscription status, security alerts, product changes, support requests, or updates to legal terms.
We may also send promotional communications where permitted by law. You may unsubscribe from promotional emails using the unsubscribe link included in the message. You may continue to receive necessary transactional or account-related communications after opting out of promotional messages.
21Third-Party Links and Services
RoleMetric may contain links to job boards, employer websites, professional platforms, document services, or other third-party websites and services.
We are not responsible for the privacy, security, or content practices of third parties. Information you provide directly to a third party is governed by that third party’s privacy policy.
You should review the privacy practices of any third-party service before providing personal information.
22Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the Service, legal requirements, technology, or our business practices.
When we make changes, we will update the “Last Updated” date. If changes are material, we may provide additional notice through the Service, by email, or through another reasonable method.
Your continued use of RoleMetric after an updated Privacy Policy becomes effective means that the updated policy will apply to your continued use of the Service, to the extent permitted by law.
